LUBAO, Pampanga—Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab and the local government unit here continue to play Santa Clause this holiday season.

Recently, 600 underweight children from indigent families were treated to a “Kiddie Pamasko” (Christmas party for children) at the Sto. Tomas Multi-Purpose Hall here. This was the fifth year that Mayor Cayabyab has been sponsoring the event.

The children were each given a bag of groceries containing packs of milk powder, chocolate drinks, iodized salt, sugar, spaghetti ingredients, and meat products; and, cash gifts.

Lunch from Jollibee were also served to the guests who are also recipients of vitamins and milk supplementation, along with other nutritional programs of the LGU, says Rita Rose Magsino, municipal nutrition action officer.
“Mayor Mylyn had been doing this program since 2014,” Magsino said.

She said that most of the 600 children have shown improved nutritional status which can be attributed to the continuous milk and vitamins supplementations, regular feeding and other micronutrient augmentation programs of Mayor Cayabyab.

Present during the event were Vice Mayor Robertito Diaz and Councilors Gonzalo Tungul, Carlos Carlos II, Emmanuel Santos, Romulo Paule and Jay Montemayor.
